Store Magic Earth maps on SD card

Android only

If you are using an SD card with your phone, maps are downloaded by default on the SD card (external storage). You can check this in 'Settings > Maps storage > Prefer external storage'. As long as ‘Prefer external storage' is set in Magic Earth and there is enough space on the SD card, maps will be downloaded on the external storage of the phone. When the SD card is full, the maps will be downloaded on the internal storage of the phone.

You can also move maps manually from one storage to another. The Magic Earth maps folders can be found as follows:
- INTERNAL: internal_storage/MAGICEARTH/Data/Maps
- EXTERNAL:
Android 4.4 and higher: storage/sdcard/Android/data/com.generalmagic.magicearth/files/Download/MAGICEARTH/
Android below 4.4: external_storage/MAGICEARTH/Data/Maps

Make sure Magic Earth is closed and move the maps from one storage to another according to your preferences. Then restart the app and check whether your maps are available under ‘Downloaded maps’ (swipe from right to left in the ‘Download maps’ screen).

Android only
